Has anyone ever swapped the front component speakers on a 6 speaker 18 mustang with coaxial speakers? I recently purchased PowerBass 6.5 component with separate tweeter and I also got the PowerBass 6.5 coaxial built in tweeter. But I want to know if I install the separate tweeters on the pillars and the components on rear. Coaxials on front doors. How would that sound? I have a 10inch sub from OEM+ with built in amp. And aftermarket Sync 3 upgrade from 4inch to 8inch radio. If I use Forscan to flatten the sound would that help? I like using Forscan for other engine and transmission related stuff and I want to know if I can also adjust my speakers frequencies with Forscan. Hopefully someone can guide me through.

I just finished installing the coaxials on front doors and component on rear. My sub taps on the left and right for signal from rear speakers. However, once it powers on it loses the signal and the rear speakers completely shuts down. Is there a way to amplify the signal so that it doesn’t shut down?

Hello; I do not have experience with your cars. I have replaced OEM speakers with aftermarket before. There are some parameters which can make a difference. Matching the ohms with the speakers in the car is important. Many car speakers were 4 ohm in the past. Home theater & stereo have commonly been 8 ohm.
Another is the relative efficiency of the speakers. Forget the term just now but relates to how many decibels a speaker makes per set amounts of power.
I rebuilt my home theater speakers around 20 years ago and had to learn about these things.

But I do know a place likely to have the answers. The shop is in Ohio and I bought my speakers and components from them. They had a help line in the past. Here is a link.
