I have 61k on the Mustang, and the front brakes squeal pretty much all the time, even when hot. I'm guessing the wear indicators are doing what they do. I like the bite of the OEM units, don't want drilled or slotted rotors, and I'd like pads that didn't create so much dust. Anyone have advice on what to get, and where to get replacement parts.

Powerstop z23 or z26's appears to be the go to. I just ordered z26's for my car. For a street car, slotted rotors are a waste, and unless you go 2 piece, just stick with stock iron and call it a day.

Rock Auto is where i went to get mine

The Z 26 lose some initial bite. The lack of visable dust is worth the extra pedal effort.

Eve know I bought mine used it took me a month to not launch myself through the windshield lol

Slightly less initial bit isn't a bad thing, imo

I installed the z26's front and back, and I dont like them. As a matter of fact the fronts were so noisy (yes I bed them per their instructions) and took the fronts off. Perhaps my rotors need to be turned, but have no pedal pulsation or anything but the fronts dragged audibly, just enough to be very annoying. The back driver side is doing it enough that i need to pull them apart and slap more grease on the backer and hope it negates the noise.

I'll probably do brand new rotors all around and ferodo's and have my wheels ceramicoated and deal with the dust.

Did you turn your old rotors before changing pad compounds?

At the very least take a D/A with some sand paper and get all the old pad compound off the rotors. Then bed in your new pads.

I'd run the D/A sand paper on the Z26 pads also since you bedded them. These should be quiet even without grease.

Bought z26's and OEM rotors. The rotors were cheaper at my dealership than buying them online after adding the shipping cost. Those things weigh a ton.

Popped off the wheels only to see the pads are half worn. I'll save the bits for another day when needed.
