  • Uses Ford Service Part FR3Z-1125-A or Motorcraft BRF1460 Brake pads
  • Uses Ford Serivce Part FR3Z-1125-D or Motorcraft BRRF246 brake rotors
from several sources on the internet, these are the pads and rotors of the 6 piston brembo pads and rotros on the gt performance pack.

now, wonder who makes those pads for motorcraft?

Pads and rotors are made in italy by brembo, motorcraft/ford reboxes them under their own sku. I had the parts brand new in box sold them last week

oh... ok. ultimately i know i should have a set of pads and rotors for track and street. carbotec is said to be able to switch back and fourth on the same rotor, so that's what i ended up with on my last car and it seemed to be ok but i had only done 2 single day events.

That would be ideal.

Depending on how hard you track you could go Ferodo DS2500 but if your heavy on the brakes they will fade.

Do the DS2500's have the same surface area as the factory pads or are they shorter as a first to market option?

You can get DS2500's that are exactly the same size as OEM now. However if you go to a track that is very hard on brakes I've found that they don't fade but they however do overheat and smear pad material on the rotors and by the end of the weekend your brakes will feel kinda gunky through the pedal and you'll ultimately have to toss the pads and get the rotors turned. For slower tracks DS2500 will be perfectly fine.

BTW you can clear up pad build up with a sander, no need to turn them.

I did it all the time when I used 2500's on my STI.
