Hey guys over the past 2 months I’ve created replacement paddle shifters for myself and wanted to know if anyone would be interested in having a set made for them. I modeled them up, printed them several times making sure they worked perfectly and I liked the ergonomics. I printed mine out of Aluminium but for production I haven’t decided which metal I will choose. Depends on price point. So if anyone will be interested in a full kit (paddles, new spring pin, and optional spacer) let me know and also let me know what price point would you pay at. Right now they are looking to be around $250-300 which is on par with some of the nicer stick on extensions. Let me know what you think!!

Why not extended a bit? The price would have me stand down for now, but wondering why not a bit more aggressive in the styling.

I didn’t want to go overboard with the styling, sort of like an oe upgrade. Wanted it to be bigger and nicer but not out of place if that makes sense. I can make different designs but the bigger they are the more they cost since additive manufacturing isn’t necessarily cheap. I’m gonna look into other options but I want to get a sense for if people want them before I do all this work lol.

I like em but I'm not in the camp of wanting to spend that kind of money for them unfortunately

IMO, giant wheel-mounted paddle shifters are obnoxious. However, I’d be all for large Ferrari/Alfa Romeo/GT-R style paddles if there was a way to move the shifters to the column. OP did great here. However, my personal limit on something like this would be maybe $200, and only if they were powdered/gun metal colored and some type of sturdy metal/magnesium alloy. I know that price and quality is unlikely due to the small scale nature of this.

I guess $300 is a bit pricy, but $200 for a pair in Aluminium would be great.

Mine were $18 from ebay and work amazingly well with some 3m tape.

those are much nicer than others I have seen, and sized perfectly to my taste. I would like them on my wheel, but, I just can't justify the cost,

I know the amount of work it took to get them to this point and the cost to produce them is high, but mine work just fine as is,

if I had cash to burn, I would have already asked for a set to be produced for me.

good luck, I hope you can get enough people buying them to cover all your time and costs.

Yea the cost is a lot, I made them for myself so I didn’t really care about the cost. Theoretically I could make them cheaper by changing the design and making them more flat like some of the other companies. Also I could change the process from dmls to binder jetting. Could print them out of a carbon fiber material and epoxy them gloss which would turn out pretty cool. Rn I think I’ll just offer them on the a website and if anyone wants them they can get them at a higher price and it’ll be made out of a black stainless steel while I explore other ways to make them cheaper. I mean people will pay for a carbon fiber cover for 900 bucks so I’m sure there is a market. When I had my Audi, replacement paddles were in the realm of 350 but that’s a different type of car. I just want them to be much cheaper so others can get them Bc they look and feel awesome. I took mine off and actually sanded up to 1200 grit and polished them for a mirror finish. So I will still look into things and update the page when I have a website/cheaper options.

I kind of liked the fact they were replicas of the gt500 set in a brushed metal finish.

I like the idea a lot but just can't justify the cost unfortunately.

Did you use a service Shapeways or do you have access to that type of equipment? I've used shapeways to do some metal printing and liked the outcome, but haven't had the need as much beyond my own FDM and resin printers.

yep I used I.materialise and for a cheaper extended option that’s a mix of metal and plastic I plan on using sculpteo for binder jetting. At my work we have a printer for carbon filament but we’ve used it so much that we need a new nozzle.
