I just replaced my stock turbo with another stock turbo. And if you read my other thread, yes, I did my DP connected. I got all the oil lines hooked back up and the CAI , but when I started it, it started to smoke a little right above where the top left bolt connects the turbo to the engine. I only ran the engine about 30 secs the first time, let it cool down then repeated the process with the same results. I turned it off and left it alone.

I'm wondering if this is just the rather generous amount of oil that spilled while I detached the oil lines. If so, I topped off the oil before I fired it up.

The only thing I didn't do that was original was to put the heat shield on the new turbo. I can if it's that important.

Any ideas. Thinking about having it towed to the garage just in case. But changing the turbo just doesn't seem like something even I could screw up.

Thoughts?

I'm sure that smoke was caused by oil residue, it will burn off. Run it for 5 minutes.
