Remote start won’t work anymore

Hello everyone,
Long story short, my remote start quit working when I connected an ngauge and it began to download the factory stock file but I cancelled it before the progress bar even started. I cancelled the process because I still hadn’t received my aftermarket tune yet and didn’t want to mess with anything until I received the file. Since then my remote start doesn’t work but the car operates like normal and no issues. Now I have received and uploaded the new tune and car operates flawlessly but the darn remote start still doesn’t work. No check engine light on, parking break down and even logged on with FORScan and made sure remote start is still enabled. Every time I click remote start the key fob blinks red 3 times. Is there a way I can troubleshoot anything else or any recommendations? Thanks

Press the lock button on the remote before using the remote start.

Yes I know how to do it but it wont work regardless. It used to work fine before.

Have you replaced the remote’s battery yet?

Try disconnecting the car’s battery for at least 20 minutes. Reconnect battery. Try remote start function after locking the car.

Another reason for the remote function not to work: diagnostic trouble codes that need to be cleared (use Forscan or other tool). The codes may not result in a check engine light. It’s a fail-safe mode until the issue(s) are fixed.

If you recently changed the car’s settings using Forscan, revert back to stock programming.

I haven’t replaced the batteries yet. I will try that next. I tried disconnecting the battery and no luck as well. On the FORScan I haven’t changed any settings I just logged in to make sure that the remote start was enabled.

Try disconnecting the car’s battery again for a longer time. It’s easy and free.
Use Forscan to look for DTCs and clear any stored.

Well I left the battery disconnected overnight and connected it this morning and the remote start works now!! I guess I didn’t leave it disconnected long enough before. Thanks for you help!
