Beef, good article when you are comparing a stock tstat from a different platform VS a 170° unit. But, that is not indicative of the performance of their unit VS another aftermarket tstat like our 160° EvenFlo tstat. It is no secret that Michigan get cold...REALLY COLD in the winters. All of our personal vehicles that we produce a 160° tstat for we use, all year long. I personally do not experience any loss of performance or comfort even in winter. We set 4 records (if memory serves me right) late last fall, and the SRT Jeep and SHO that we set records with both had our EvenFlo high performance tstats in them.

Walt, I can see your train of thought and where you're coming from. Those are all SOLID upgrades. Optimal cooling cannot be achieved without opening the thermostat earlier. With your setup, the best case scenario that you would have without swapping out your factory tstat would be that you would be able consistently and efficiently cool to the factory intended temps. But, if you include our 160° tstat you would be getting the best possible combo for keeping you temps down.

Not to venture off topic but has anyone experimented with a 70/30 or 60/40 water to coolant mixture? Definitely would bring down temps a little

I did it, on the JLT it doesn't help much in stop n go situations, but a quick wot pull and you'll see the inlet temps drop like you put ice on the intake. Lol. Much faster than before. I also modified my CAI to have more of a seal again the hood.

Any additional water in you CAI box after the mod? Also, can you share pics? I am thinking about it but would like to see how it is done.

I have you all's tune...incredible so far!!! He you all experience check engine lights with the lower stats in cooler climates? That's been my experience. My Jeep SRT 8 through codes as well.

No, we do not experience any CEL's because we supply tuning for all of the modifications that you have on your vehicle. That is why your tuner arrived blank and we had you extract some info from the ECU, list your mods and the octane(s) that you planned on using. This way whenever our calibrators start building your custom tuning we can take everything possible into account.

Im running the Reische one I picked up from Lethal since the car was tuned. I quicky noticed a good 15-20* cooler temps.

The coyote motors are known to best run around 180-195 ECT and this thermostat will keep it in the range no problem. One thing that most people don't know is when these cars are tuned, they set the ECT to pull timing at a certain * which is a fail safe. Keeping the motor in the correct range will allow it to run stronger with no worries over over heating or just running it hot.

Good example. I drove over 650 miles from Southern Florida to Myrtle Beach, sat in traffic, did the Circle Course, beat on it a lot and I never once seen my temps get over 195. (Thanks to Lund Racing for a great tune which allows me to do this)

Installed this last week and after a few days of driving. I'm happy with the results in hot weather as well as the lower IATs now that the rads fans don't have to work as hard while being tuned.
