When entering S mode, the engine will rev higher and the boost is available (as the turbo has spun up).In S mode, the lag is practically unnoticeable comparing to D. It's really swift and agile.
Well, you will always have a kick down mode on an automatic. But as the turbo needs that little moment to spin up, lag will always be there. Personally I have not yet driven a turbo petrol engine that does not have even the smallest amount of lag.Based on your experience, is there a specific way HOW TO floor the pedal in D in order to minimize the lag? Don't lough, it happens to some AT.
P.S. you run at 70km/h probably with 6th gear and you want to hard accelarate. In D position.
On the GT (which of course does not have a turbo) there is no lag compared to the EB.
The next Mustang would benefit greatly from a 8-speed auto to minimise any delay/lag and this has been shown on many other cars that uses an 8-speeder. They are simply quicker and the boost is more or less always available.
