Received "returned" tire from Tire Rack.

Hi Everyone,

I received a set of tires from Tire Rack this week and one tire has a yellow label on it that says it was returned to Tire Rack in September. It also says "DOCK JUNK". Should I be concerned about this tire? Picture attached.

I would definitely not remove the label until I had spoken with them. They've always delivered great service for me in the past and I'm sure they will take care of you. Please follow-up once this mystery has been solved. Thanks for sharing. I would also ask what is meant by the "Expiration Date of 8 Dec 2020".

At a quick glance, no but makes me wonder if someone tried fitting it and it didn't fit or some other defect.

Probably not mounted, if it looks clean and free of lube its probably a perfectly good tire. A tire is a tire is a tire.

Heard from Tire Rack this morning. As always, they were very helpful and very friendly on the phone. The gentlemen on the phone spoke to a warehouse supervisor to check and apparently it's a common occurence and nothing to worry about. He said it's something that comes from the manufacturer but didnt elaborate on what it meant. I'm having them installed today and will report back if there's problem otherwise assume everything's good.
