Last week I got a letter from Ford saying to call the dealer to schedule an appointment for the two recalls my car currently has (front brakes squealing and high underbody temp), so I made an appointment for today (keep in mind I live 45 minutes away from the dealer. I get to the dealership and the service advisor I setup the appointment comes out and looks at the car and then says thanks for bring the car down, but we don't have any parts for the recalls yet. He proceeds to tell me that Ford requires them to see the vehicle in person before they can created RO for the parts. Anyone else ever here of this procedure or is this a line of bullshit. I have had multiple recall work done on other vehicles and I have never heard of this.

For the brake TSB, they had to confirm that my brakes were squealing before they ordered the parts.

Have the same problem. Came to Ford Dealer to do recall work but was told by the specialist that they don't know what to do and don't have parts and an instruction. will wait another month will see.

I called my dealer today, they informed me the parts were not all in stock. They said missing components would be ordered and to check in two weeks. At which point I should bring it in for service. (For the under body temps recall)

Dealer needs to confirm if replacement is needed so i went to the dealer last friday for the underbody temp recall and tsb. I was fortunate that they have the brake disks and pads available. Happy with the result, but parts are on speacial order for the under body issue.

When I bought my 3.7 in 2010 the cars developed a very bad tick while idling. I had to bring it in to confirm the problem and the repair kits took almost a month to come in

I was also told that they had to order the parts. I would advise anyone that has a tune to return the vehicle back to stock before they get the recall work done. It's just not worth the potential hassle from the dealer.

I had to drop mine off for a day before they told me parts were not available. I did get a free car wash out of the whole deal, but was not happy that I was mislead to thinking the parts were actually on hand.

Picked my car up today, only thing it got was new rotors and pads. The thermal wrap is not in yet. But I did find out my dealer is mod friendly as most of the techs are running ecoboost trucks and gts along with the service writer he has a ecoboost f150 with a tune and so on...

That's Nice to know that I can wait another 2 weeks and then give the Dealer a call to find out their particular process for these Recalls . Maybe they will be more prepared to do the repairs as needed !
