When you guys are flashing back to the stock tune, are you "unmarrying" the tuner from the car completely or just flashing back to the stock map? I have the Cobb tuner and with that I can just flash back to a stock map which takes like 2 minutes. But if I have to actually unmarry the tuner so there's no evidence at all it's a much longer process. Doing a fresh install of the tuner takes like 20 or 30 minutes.

I just did this the other day. Had to have dealer reset ecu because of a hydroplaning accident with a curb and side airbags deployment. It took about 25 minutes combined to uninstall and then reinstall. Just cover your ass and uninstall it.

Yes, you are completely removing the performance tune and loading the stock tune back. It could be used on another car if you were to sell it, well manual=manual auto=auto and same modifications(stock)

Unmarrying is for the tuner itself, its just pulling vin and other data to it locking it to that car so you cant tune multiple cars with one tuner. Changed back to stock tune should be just fine but there are plenty of people that say it doesn't matter what you do once you reprogram ecu with a tune the techs can find out.

So you guys know.. the OP asked about recall 15S19, which is the underbody temps issue. It involved replacing the fuel tank underbody shield and adding some thermal patches to the fuel tank, e-brake cable and some EVAP hoses to avoid some components getting to hot and not working properly or melting. it will NOT involve anything with your PCM or programming.
How do I know this? Im a shop foreman at ford dealership. and it really shouldn't take 2 weeks to get this done, like someone mentioned. We are a huge dealership here in Las Vegas, and it generally takes up to 3-4 days max to complete it. The actual process to complete the work is less then 2 hours with a tech that somewhat knows what he is doing lol
