Ok, but I can't possibly fathom how they have time for that.
Because it’s about the same amount of time that the local tax assessors office can find to fly drones over your property to make sure you didn’t quietly add a; pool, barn or guest house that you “forgot” to declare 😉

I didn't comment on the auto insurers cancelling participants who are running at HPDE as I had only heard rumors.
I'll quote directly from Panorama Magazine, December 2024 issue. This response is to a reader's letter about minimal coverage of a recent autocross event.

From their Editor
"Over the past several years autocross coverage has become a somewhat challenging undertaking owing to the actions of several insurers. Following the Parade in the Poconos in 2022, we received reports of insurers cancelling coverage for those participating in the autocross. Our initial response was to pixilate the license plates in any photos of autocross events. Nevertheless, with access to names, the instances of insurers taking punitive actions against autocrossers has persisted. To say that we are now gun-shy about autocross coverage would be a significant understatement."

This is why my plate will remain covered or off during HPDE events.

If I removed my plate for track day, I worry I might forget to put it back on and then get pulled over! Last year I got a speeding ticket right after leaving Mid-Ohio because I did not recalibrate myself back to regular highway speeds.

Add it to your end of day check list
