So I've got a hundred or so miles on a new set of Steeda non-adjustable Pro Action dampers, and I hate them. Bouncy as fuck, honestly the stock PP shocks might go back on until I can find something better, at least on the front. I hate to do that because I just got it aligned, but shit man I expected better. The rear isn't too bad, definitely an improvement, but the front is killing me. I have a track day this weekend, it'll probably be fine for that, but as this is mainly a street car this just won't do.

Springs are Steeda Progressives in the front and Steeda adjustables (also progressive, but higher rate) in the rear.

Anyone try the Bilstein B6 or B8 struts? Koni yellows might also be an option, but I've never been let down by Bilstein. If I can't find a way to make this setup work I'll just spring for a PSS10 kit and call it a day.

Oh yeah and before anyone asks, I'm using the Steeda "adjustable" bumpstops installed for lowered ride height.

I have Koni yellows set to half stiff, BMR handling springs, steeda CC plates, and trimmed stock bump stops. There is no bouncing with my setup, it hits the bump and absorbs it and back to steady state. The ride is rougher than stock but I still think overall this setup is better than the stock PP setup on the street, and waaaay better on track.

Bouncy as F**** does not sound right. We have a development vehicle with the same set up and the ride is phonmenal, Much better than the Ford damper offerings as well!
Pm me your contact info and let’s get to the root cause.
Thank you,
Steeda Tech

Talked with Steeda this morning to try and figure out what's going on and what to do next, I'll update when we get somewhere. I'll take some GoPro footage this weekend, but it'll be helmet mounted so no telling what the video will actually show.

Do they fit inside the stock dust boots?

Well I got to the bottom of it, and it ain’t good.

Steeda’s techs were thinking it was the poly bump stops not working at my ride height with their progressive front springs, so having just got the damn thing aligned I went about tearing it all apart again to disassemble the struts and replace the poly bump stops with the OE jounce bumpers (what Ford calls them) since it worked fine before with those and the OE struts.

Good news, it’s not the poly bump stops. Bad news, it’s blown ass struts. Well one is completely fucked (pic attached) and the other will still extend on it’s own and is blowing less oil, but it isn’t long for this world. I’ve got about 200 miles on these and the problem existed from day one. I did not bottom this shock out, the rod slowly dropped down just due to gravity.

I need my car for a trip in 3 days so I have no choice at this point but to put the stock PP shocks back on until I can figure out what to do. At least I know that when I complained that it felt underdamped, that’s because it was.

Oh and as a side note, the rubber caps Steeda sells for their rear shock mounts do more harm than good, trapping fine gravel to sit on top of the spherical bearing and work it’s way in over time. Until I find a better solution I just used the OE caps and duct taped them on so at least it’s sealed.

Yes the OE dust boots work with the Steeda bump stops. They don’t fit as tightly as the OE ones do, but it works just the same.
I have steeda struts and shocks non adjustable and their bump stomps with eibach sport lines springs and my car rides tight no issues with bouncing.. Extremely happy with them

If guys with pp stock suspension could do this one first they'd be so pleased. Make your first suspension mod rear Koni Orange str.t's. I could kick myself for not doing those two years ago. A totally more tolerable ride without giving up a performance feel..
