Hi everyone,

To target one specific body panel issue, is this something I can fix myself? The plastic panel does not align with the tail light, just on the left side. The dealer claims there is no way to fix and a new plastic piece will not fix the issue. I am thinking maybe a metal clip is out of place, a nut can be moved slightly or something easy (hopefully). I have seen videos on removing this, so know the general procedure.

And yes, the car was filthy when I took this picture. Sorry.

Thanks.

I had the same issue on my car.

I first tried to adjust the 4 bolts that hold this in place. If you watch the CJPP video for the blank panel, it will show you how to get access to them.

That didn't work for me, so I then went ahead and removed the trunk panel where the bottom latch is, and physically adjusted the latch (opening and closing the trunk) each time.

It took about 45 mins, and the fitment is much better than before.
