With the other things I have going on, I can't afford shocks and struts at the same time. Is it possible (or advisable) to just replace the stock shocks in the rear, leaving the factory struts? Or perhaps the other way and replacing the struts, but leaving the rears?

How would this affect cornering? Or would it be a mess? Maybe I should buy one set and stick it in a closet until I get the other set?

I have the basic V6, and I have a Strano rear bar on order - everything else is stock, and will be so I can stay in F-street for autoX. I'm looking for the best cornering grip I can get...

I've seen folks swap out just the rears to rid themselves of the bounce on PP mustangs, not sure what the handling characteristics of the V6 are though?

I installed just the rear Koni's on my PP GT and drove around with them for a couple days until I had time to do the fronts. The ride and handling improved noticeably and I didn't experience any problems. I would think you'd be fine doing just the rears for now.

I know this thread a year old but which rear koni shock you guys talking of? ..or is there only one part#? ..Im ready to rid my perfpack gt of the constant rear bounce. Took a small road trip today and the feedback from the road uneveness is just too much anymore.

I've only got the Koni orange installed currently. I plan on doing the fronts in the winter. The rear is much firmer. The install is pretty easy as well.

Will the koni orange be a nice improvement over my stock rears.? ..I would really like to minimize the rear bounciness

I went with the adjustable yellow rear koni and had to adjust them one turn from full stiff to control some of the bounce. I later added the Steeda billet shock mounts and that added even more control and additionally reduced more bounciness.

Any shock replacement over the stock ones is worth it. The koni orange are a very affordable option if you're on a budget and will feel smoother and less jarring than stock. I've had koni orange on my previous car and they're okay.

I did the rears only on a non PP 2015 GT and it was a huge improvement.

The Ford Racing track dampers are an excellent upgrade even with stock or near stock springs. With ~800-825 lb/in or less rear springs the steeda fixed pro actions are also a good choice.

Steeda, oddly enough, apparently is having a sale on Koni shocks. I'd rather have the Steeda Pro-Actions, personally, but either are fine. Worth considering Bilsteins, too.

But if you want to do just the rear, yes you can. Installed a set of rear-only Steeda Pro-Action Fixed dampers and the guy liked the result, which was less bounciness. He did spring for the Steeda shock mounts, though - those are a must IMO.

Rears are way easier to install, no need for special tools or skill...just bolt off bolt on. BTW, I'll suggest the Steeda shock mounts too, good benefits for not a lot of money. I'd mount both the shocks and mounts at once, super easy install.
