Rear IRS gears

I have no interest in higher gear ratios, im personally only interested in a Detroit locker. But from what ive gathered our super 8.8 is the same size housing as a 9 inch rear.

So why no aftermarket stuff for this super 8.8?

If the housing is too small, Ford Motorsport needs to come out with a larger housing with the 4:11 or 4:56 gears already installed. However , I think there should still be a way to make a 4:56 work in the current housing. Might have to get the grinder out and remove some metal from the housing to make the gears fit. I remember grinding metal away from the pinion housing on 9 inch rears to get 5.76,5.83, and 6.00 gears to fit.

Where are the gears already. These cars need 4.30's. US Gear was supposed to be releasing some in the second quarter of this year, call them and get them cracking.

Ford does have 4.09 gears available for the Super 8.8. There was another thread about it on here. I'm thinking if I spend the money to change I might want a bigger change.

The 4.09 is out, but not the technology to correct the speedo after the swap...so I'm told...once that issue is resolved I'm doing the 4.09s for sure!

Whipple has a solution for that, it's called the "flare device" $275.00. But I too am not gonna waste my time on a 4.09 gear set. Bring me a 4.56 then Im ready!

Coulda swore I saw Ford Performance 2015+ compatible 4.09 or 4.10 gears in the parts catalog...

Oh yeah ok knew about that. Ford doesn't actually have them available.

I tried to order 4 weeks ago. No go.
