I hope for the sake of guys that want to run a naturally aspirated set up that ford racing or another aftermarket vendor offers more gear selections. I'm hoping for 4.10-4.56. PLEASE!

4.56!?! I thought my 3.73's were short lol. I guess if you have an auto it doesn't matter.

I have a gt350.
Lol. 4.56 is nothing. I used to run a 5.13 in my fox body 28" tire.

Unfortunately, Ford doesn't offer anything any steeper than 3.73 for the "Super 8.8" housing found in the 2015+ Mustangs.

Correct. But I'm hoping they do soon. Last time I talked to ford performance they said they may be releasing 4.10 gears. But he didn't know when.

Check with yukon or strange. Dont wait on ford. Either of those 2 most likely has something coming.

So how is the rear gear change with the new differentials? Does anyone know of someone that has done it and taken pictures?

Its not worse then a sra gear job. For those lacking experience its best done from a specialist. You do the installation wrong you typically have whine.

Its the same as the 8.8 straight axle. Only difference is the super 8.8 irs has a larger pinion and bearings, crush Sleve etc. they are easy if you have a press and indicator. It's important to set the pinion dept to the correct dept. It is marked on the pinion head. This is adjusted by a shim between the bearing and pinion head. It's also important to set the pinion bearing preload and the diff bearing preload. This is also done with shims. On a 9" ford the diff bearing and gear backlash and pattern is adjusted by a spanner nut on both sides of the diff.

Not sure what the normal GTPP launch is like, but to get the GT350 to the same gear multiplication, it would need 4.20 gear just to match because of the taller first gear.

GT350 - 3.25
GTPP - 3.66

I wish the same gear options for the 8.8 were available for the super 8.8.

I would think Ford Motorsports would be working as fast as possible to get some 4:11 and 4:56 gears produced to beat others to the market.

I was told by Ford Performance that the IRS housing is not big enough to accept a larger ring & pinion eg. 4.11. That is why there is no aftermarket gears from Moser, Strange ect.....

I have no interest in higher gear ratios, im personally only interested in a Detroit locker. But from what ive gathered our super 8.8 is the same size housing as a 9 inch rear.
