Rear GT emblem removal??

i want to pull my emblems off so i can paint them instead of plastidip. how is the gt emblem attached? just tape or are there pins or fasteners?

It's plastic welded on the back. You tube has several videos on it.

Removing the GT emblem will break the tabs that are molded into the decklid. There's no tape. If you pull the emblem, be prepared to buy a new one.

or strategically cut 3M automotive double sided tape.
My matte black ponies are taped with zero issues.

Yes.

I did the wrap after emblem removal. It was acceptable at first but my hole filler shrank and the holes became very noticeable. Bummed. I just bite the bullet on the MMD painted black, much better.

You can use JB weld or even super glue to put the emblem back on. But I would remove the decklid and use a dremel to remove the plastic rivets. Paint it or do whatever you plan to do it and then use the JB weld.

Not true...........If you carefully drill the head off the plastic tabs, there will still be tabs left to put the emblem back on. Just add plastic epoxy or JB Weld.
