Leaving insurance out shouldn’t be a big deal so long as the other party agrees to your terms. You pick the shop, they pay the bill. If they don’t pay, you file against their policy. Just make sure you have the policy details and verify that it was in effect at the time of the accident.
That never works out. They think they can get away with paying next to nothing for the claim. It is usually preceded by hey bring it to my guy. When they find out how much it is going to cost they start with the tactic that you are trying to rip them off. Go get an estimate from YOUR insurance company and have it fixed properly. Let the insurance companies fight it out. You will get your deductible back eventually. Insist on new FORD parts.
