Rear Bumper Covers - Premium vs Base

I'm sure this has been answered before but what else is need to go from base bumper to premium bumper? Is it very heavy modifications or does it just bolt on if you change the whole bumper assembly?

You need the premium bumper and valence. If you have the base bumper, you should be able to transfer all the reflectors and if you don't break the clips and hardware, should be able to use that toward the conversion. I should be picking my premium bumper up from paint tonight, and attempting this weekend to finish the conversion.

I'm in the middle of my swap right now. I bought the premium bumper with sensors for 350 shipped. I bought the roush valance without sensors and it covers the holes perfectly. Got it painted for 380

I thought it would be more expensive since it is body work done. I think I'll be doing this too. Thanks for the answers.

Did the conversion Friday evening. Took me 3hrs by myself, taking my time, and watching a video I found in the DIY section at each step. I would definitely recommend having a friend to help with lining things up. It was doable, but frustrating at times.

I will say that I've done bumper conversions on other cars before. None were as involved. With backup sensor, license plate lights, reflectors, turn signals, trunk pop, reverse light and a wiring harness, there's a lot to transfer to the new bumper.

You will need 3 screws per side, for the valence to attach to the premium bumper. Just a heads up. I made a quick trip to Home Depot the next morning for those screws, and finished it up. Everything else transfers over.

Other than that...I love it. And I'm glad I did it.

Where did you guys order your bumper and valence from? I was looking at Auto Nation Ford and I see that the bumper with sensors is cheaper than the one without sensors. My car has the sensors so it is a little perplexing that it is cheaper. Would it be different since I have a V6?

I ordered mine from Levittown. Drove down and picked it up myself.

I wouldn't question the cheaper price, just go with it.

I got mine off eBay, it was from a desler that was 60 minutes from me so I got it within a day. I also completed mine, you will need 6 bolts and 6 j clips for the roush valance. I took a picture of the package, I'll post it when I get home.

If you plan to go roush valance, get the with sensors. If your just converting to premium then get without.
