Reading the oil dipstick

I have recently noticed that the oil level on the dipstick is slightly(about 1/8th inch) different from the front to the back side. Anyone know which is correct?

It’s likely because the dipstick is positioned at an angle and one side is higher at resting position. I would read the lower of the two.
