you don't need a full system though really do you just the bits after the resonator so even if you get a full system if you cut it just after the resonator on the stragiht bit of pipes it'll give you plenty of room to work with and straight connections for some clamps. only tool needed is an angle grinder with a cutting disc or if you like manual work a hacksaw

its surprisingly difficult to get that style of exhaust clamp in the uk

I chucked mine several months after installing the Roush axle backs. Finally sunk in that short of welding, there was no way to reinstall them properly.

That’s the type I used and got them from a local auto factor for around £10, they had a box full of various sizes

I get what you’re saying but swapping the whole system would be a simpler and cleaner job than that. I wouldn’t fancy tackling those pipes with a hacksaw!

Thanks for the offer, but transporting it would be an issue. I’m swapping my car and want to keep the axle backs for the new one but can’t send my car back to the dealership without mufflers!

Well, I tried the sleeve clamp method, and failed! There’s simply not enough straight section left on the back boxes to get them on tight enough at an angle agreeable to the rest of the system!

Looks like the Ford Racing axle backs are going back to Ford with the car. Really disappointing as they are pretty nice sounding and I don’t think I’ll pick up another pair at the bargain price I get them for.
