I’m hearing a concerning rattling and whirring noise (separately) from my engine bay. Here’s the background and video:

About a month ago I started hearing a faint, high pitched squeaking noise from the engine bay. I assumed it was the serpentine belt. Before I could replace it the water pump blew, and was replaced. Since getting it replaced, I’m hearing a new, louder rattling/knocking noise. The rattling seems to be consistent, but the whirring stops when clutch is fully depressed. Both sound like they are coming from the serpentine belt/pulley area, so I’m hoping that it’s just a loose bearing or I need a new belt. Has anyone heard this before? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Try removing the belt and starting the car. This should rule out any belt drive sources for the noise.

Should just be a 3/8 ratchet, a 13 or 15mm (dont remember size) socket to turn the tensioner so you can remove the belt.

If you’re getting a chirping/bearing squeal noise and it disappears when pressing in the clutch pedal, usually that is sign of clutch throwout bearing failing.

That's what I'm gathering, but I'm really hoping that's not the case because it would be expensive to fix. From videos I've seen online the squealing from the TOB is pretty loud, where mine isn't
