I tried to search on this for awhile and didn't find anything similar so I thought I would ask. Daily driving, I have zero issues with charging or the battery itself but when I'm at the track, waiting in the staging lanes, if I turn the car off it won't start back up. It has happened the last two weekends and I can not for the life of me, figure it out. Make a couple passes, let it cool down for about an hour, starts right back up until I get to the staging lanes and cut it off while waiting and it's dead in the water when i try to start it back up. Once it's jumped off, it fires right up and I don't have any other issues.
I have checked to make sure nothing is plugged into any of the ports, my radio is off, as well as my lights when running at the track. Just at a loss for words and tired of this thing dying. Does this sound like a weak battery issue or an under powered alternator issue? Any help or advise would be great. It is quite embarrassing to have to jump off a brand new vehicle in the staging lanes.

I think it's not the battery.
Have you looked at what's the battery voltage when it's dead?
When you say dead like its making a clicking sound or just nothing at all?

Car just clicks like it's trying to start but doesn't have enough juice to turn it over. Like I said, jump it off and it fires right up.

Could it be a loose terminal? Sounds so weird that it works fine then just stops working.
With that being said, have the battery checked out. Not the first time I heard bad batteries on brand new cars.

Had the battery and the rest of the system tested this morning at work (I'm the manager of a Goodyear store down here in Texas) and everything checks out fine, which is the weird part. Checked the cables both times it's happened and everything is tight and we can't find a draw anywhere in the vehicle. I might just throw a higher cca battery in it and call it a day. Just thought I would ask to see if this has happened to anybody else before I did.

someone had a loose starter bolt which caused a similar issue. it was fairly recent, try doing a search, you'll probably find it.
