General G-Max AS03's UHP all seasons from tire rack
Very good in the Dry, Hot or cold, Amazing in the wet, Suprizingly good in the snow.

I had them on my Skyline, Supra, Lexus and now my Ecoboost in Germany,
Lots of rain, some snow, plenty of cold days, and standing water on the Autobahn at over 100 mph, and it handles it all without problems.

Has anyone tried the BF Goodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S? They are a highly rated ultra high performance all season tire over at tirerack.

The Pilot Sport AS3 is far better than the DWS in all aspects. Whether or not it is the best choice for your environment I cant say but if these are the two you're really looking at, go with the Michelin. My wife got a flat when she was out of town and the shop only had the DWS in stock so I had her grab them (based on online reviews). I hated these tires from day one; they tramline, had less grip in dry and far less in wet weather. I replaced with the AS3 and was amazed at how much better they were.

Again, no idea if they will provide what you need but the AS3 is superior to the DWS (bit more expensive however).

I do agree that the DWS tramlines a lot more - but its also because it has way more grooves and as a result (perhaps not the only reason why) is has far far better snow and ice traction than the AS3. Is tram lining a huge issue on the stock wheels - I doubt it, unless you are running 285's up front!

Also, its worth noting that apparently the 06 DWS (new version) improves upon the iconic originals with better steering response and feel. This was somewhat of an issue in the original.

However as you are saying, the AS3 has better response and better dry grip. Almost as good as some dedicated summer performance tires. They wear on these is mixed though, per tirerack and folks who have owned them.

If I had two sets of tires, I'd go DWS06 no question. One set that is driven in the summer/all year round? AS3. If the car is driven in sub 32 days/even light snow - DWS.

Both are good choices. I wouldnt say one is better than the other.

I've been hearing very good things about the AS/3 from Michelin as well. I want to get them for my GTPP since I don't trust the PZeros in the rain.

AS3 owners, how's highway stability in the rain with them? Do they channel water well at say, 65 MPH?

I live in Portland, OR and it basically rains all the damn time, i have the Ecoboost with the performance package and these summer tires are awesome in the summer but when it rains all the damn time i feel the need to baby the gas more than i would if i didnt have summer tires. Can anyone tell me if there is a badass tire just for rainy conditions, or maybe i should consider swapping out my PP summer tires for all season ones in the winter? Also there's usually about a 30-40% chance of snow in the winters here, but again CONSTANT rain and black ice.

Just about any snow tire will also give you awesome rain traction...

That said, you know that it is raining cats and dogs today, and I'm surprised at how well the All season Hankook Ventus S1Noble2 W-rated tires I put on my performance package care are handling this weather!!! No episodes of hydroplaning yet, despite several areas of standing water on I-205 that I drove through today, and one flooded out intersetction (Powell Blvd. offramp from I-205 North).
