I was interested in R wheels but I am an aggressive track driver, using the whole track, and I don’t want to worry about bashing a wheel on a curb. I have a set of Apex VS5-RS forged wheels coming soon.

Someone on Facebook immediately rained on my parade by saying the R wing doesn’t really produce much downforce (124 lbs at 100 mph) - and potentially less than the swing - according to aftermarket wind tunnel testing by AJ Hartman (). 😭
It's Facebook. If they don't like it, then you're doing something right.

I'm a little bit of a wheel snob - and Apex just seemed too inexpensive to be good... for a while...but lately I've been drawn to their design...and price ;) I have a friend with some on his 996 Turbo and they look downright mean.

Smart move. I bought a set of BC Forged square setup for the track. Kinda of shame the CF wheels aren’t going to be used for what they’re intended, but it’s not like you can go to any wheel repair place. I had to get Spyder Composites to fix a minor curbage, and they are awful in terms of turnaround, communication, and they’re the only place AT ALL to get those wheels repaired. And if they’re bashed, they’re toast. From what I understand the CF will shatter and there’s no repairing that. $5K down the drain.

BTW that exposed carbon looks great!
