Quick (switchable) exhaust Q

Hi all,

Before I pick up the phone, does anyone know if the the Roush system HAS to be dual exit to be switchable, or whether the boxes I have can be upgraded.

I think the answers are "yes" and "no". The reason I ask if I may soon be going daily driver, and I leave the house at 5:30am. The Roush system sounds great, but with nice neighbours (and kids), I have no intention of upsetting anyone! It's WAY too loud for that sort of time :(

I could return it to standard, but I would rather avoid that as I'm already unsure about keeping it (longer term) and want to get some use out of it if I can.

you can buy the roush twin exit boxes without the active kit then its like another $2000 to upgrade to the active kit later on (or roll your own for £50 of bits from ebay!)
but it does have to be the twin exit boxes if you want switchable as the single only has the one path through the muffler so can't switch a single

As you suspected - Yes and No
The Roush active section bolts to one of the tailpipes on the quad system only. The only active single tailpipe (per side) system I know of is the XForce one - which is excellent by the way.

I'm in no position to spend £2k, unfortunately, and I like the Roush noise as it is. Oh well.

Thanks. I'll give that a read when I'm at my pc. Still looks like dual pipes and a new rear facia either way. Better than £2k regardless!

Ebay cutouts are junk and wil normally die within 6m of use.

I have a fully custom switchable system from a company called Guerilla, and its brilliant.

I had the system made up by Guerilla here in NL, but they will also sell you the valves seperately, and the exhuast cutting can be done by any experienced shop.

My system:

Cost me about 1800eur all in... which obviously isnt nothing, but about 1/2 the price of a full Roush system.

I think the Roush exhausts are very good value, but they are taking the piss asking $2k for the active controller.
