The LHD thing for me is proper weird..:D

Every time I go to Spain for the bikes, I'm team driver and hire a suitable car, last time was a LHD galaxy:thumbsup:

I struggle driving a LHD car in a LHD country:lol:... and yet when I drive a RHD car over in France, Germany Holland etc, I feel much more at home...

Go figure:shrug::crazy:
I have to admit, if i had a DD as a RHD and kept swapping round, think that would drive me a bit nuts, like getting in the wrong door, whenever i am a passenger I find it very unsettling, feels like the passenger is driving to close to the other cars and I press a brake that does not exist, I am not a good passenger, find it more relaxing in the back, when i get a lift with friends :D
I found it easy to drive in the US, being in a LHD just seemed natural as you drive on that side. When I feel in love with the S197 in Vegas and decided I wanted one, the big test for me was taking the car out on the test run, in a way it was good it was in crazy busy Fulham, with 2 lanes of parked cars. Proved to me I could handle it. My Uncle when he 1st saw the S197 said to me, "its massive how do you see over the bonnet" as I am a shortass people were shocked when they saw the size of the car and little me  My Dad nearly had a heart-attack when he went in my old Crossfire, god knows what my parents would have made of me and the Mustangs :) Lucky my Uncle does not read up on things like the NCAP
If the test had not gone well, might have had a Jag now.

I have never been bothered about the NCAP thing, but I do care about what others think. I know I shouldn't, but there it is..

I don't care what some independent body that keeps moving the goal posts and doesn't test like for like says, I know what I'd rather have a crash in at 50mph given the choice of the Mustang or a Polo.

It does worry me though that there are people out there, who can only afford a ten year old car who buy a car with a great big 5 STAR sticker in the rear window when, by today's standards it would probably be a 1 star.. there I go again.. caring what others think..

Why not just order an '18?
You get better tyres, you know.
I was set on buying a bright blue '17 but my old mum suddenly said she did not like the colour despite only wearing blue since the war.
I've gone for red.

If the Mustang had a crash with a Polo, the Polo would not stand a chance even with 5 stars. You can't ignore physics in that the heavier car would nearly always come off better. Plus there is nothing wrong with how the Mustang absorbs the energy from the impact (the cabin remained stable) more to do with the lack of nannies.

Why can't you understand? A LHD drive in UK is on the wrong side. It's far easier to drive a RHD car in the UK. Pretty amazing really...
This is exactly my point.

I used to work in Germany and Switzerland a lot, whilst I owned the S197. LHD in a LHD country, no problem, but I couldn't stand it in the UK.

I also wouldn't want a RHD car in a LHD country. I believe LHD is illegal in Aus?

Agreed on the LHD in LHD and RHD in RHD countries. Just makes it so much easier all round.

As far as Oz goes I'm pretty sure their not illegal as every time I go home me and my mate take his chevy out for a spin.

I think you can only drive classic LHD cars in OZ greater than 30 years old :)

The people selling are all nuts.

I bought my car with the view of nt selling, after a year of ownership that is still the case. I suppose I am lucky that I can use my wife's car as well as a fiesta that is my sons so although my car is technically my daily driver, it does not get used as a daily.

It still gives me a massive smile when I drive it and I don't think that I could actually sell it now.

If there is 70 odd cars for sale on AT that are all trade cars, to some extent I'm glad. Some of those traders obviously bought the cars to try and shift and make a few quid to us gullible people who did not want to wait 9 months, but I'm so happy that we all waited for our cars and hopefully they will now have to sell at a loss, I wonder if these traders are also the type of people that buy all the concert tickets and then stick em up for sale 10 mins later for x5 face value !

Buy a mustang, drive it, abuse it, enjoy it and don't worry about car tax, depreciation or anything else.

You either love it or you don't and I think most of us on here love our cars.

Yep....I'm with you Harebear:cheers:....

Just coming up to 11k miles now, and enjoyed every single one of em.....looking forward to the better weather, and I won't be surprised if I do another 10k this year:eyebulge:

Not bad for a second car that is used for pleasure only:)
