So I recently bought a 93 octane Lund tune. I love it so far! Anyway the ngauge is set up in my vent and I have a couple PIDS up at all times. When looking at engine knock during acceleration, it ranges from -1 all the way to -10 depending on how much throttle. Obviously this is good, because the computer is adding timing.

However, I noticed yesterday that sometimes when I hit the throttle the knock sensor reads like +0.1 or +0.2 before immediately jumping to like - whatever.

When I filled up recently the idiot at the pump put $1 worth of 87 in my tank before I stopped him and he filled the rest with 93. I was down to 1/8 a tank so there was way more 93 than the $1 worth of 87.

So my question is, is 0.1 or 0.2 of knock before adding timing normal? Could it be false knock? Do you think it has anything to do with the gas?

Side note: I live in NJ so it is illegal for us to pump our own gas.

Also, can someone explain what spark is and how I should use the spark readings?

SPARK is the final timing number commanded by the ECU, it takes into account all the spark modifiers.

You're fine. Things change rapidly, especially when you're quickly on and off the throttle. If ou were seeing positive knock on datalogs during a wot pull, you'd need to look into it a bit more. Just cruising, don't worry about what it reads so much.
