I have had my car for over a year with 1300 miles and the notification came up to change oil. So I took it to dealer and they told me it does not need a oil change until 7500 miles. Is this correct? I only drive it on weekends.

Change it. The synthetic blend from Ford is roughly 1 year or 10K miles, whichever comes first. Definitely change the oil.

Yep change it, the OLM is based on numerous things. Time, mileage, driving style, etc. I would definitely change it. Do not wait until 7500 miles, at that rate you will be changing it in another 5 or so years. Also drive the car some more too.

Ok will do.My daily driver is my 96. Over the years I have had door dings and some kids egging cars. My old 13 GT included and all this has happened in the parking lot at work.
So thats why I don't take my 15 GT to work. Thanks for the help. Will be changing oil today.

Take the new stang and visit some family a few hours away or go on road trips. I don't take my car to regular places like work or the gym anymore. Learned my lesson...

I don't blame you sounds like your work parking lot sucks. I wouldn't daily mine there if I worked there either.

I have my whipple on the way. So should I stick with Ford synthetic blend or switch?

I work for an oil company and I would stick with the factory recommendation, but I would use full synthetic. Ford dealers are the only ones that I will allow to put bulk oil in my car. Ford actually goes to dealer and pulls samples to make sure you are getting what you pay for.

Heavier weight oil will increase oil temps and the engine tolerances are designed around a 5w20, if you decide to go up, I would not go past 5w30 or 10w30

Motorcraft is a really good synthetic blend. It's all I use, but there are several you can't go wrong with. Royal Purple is another top tier oil I used for a while.
