i almost bought an M4. Test drove it twice. Walked away because the exhaust note sounded like a vacuum cleaner.
Agree with exhaust note. It is awful. I drove a Mustang gt automatic Friday. My God they did a great job fixing that auto. Drove the stick also, not impressed. It will be an auto for me if I get one. There is no way the M4 is 50k better. The fact you have to drop 4k to get keyless entry is just sad. Only car left between me and a 2015 mustang is the ATS-V.

With these QC comments I am concerned. But I do have an 03 Cobra so large gaps and creaking are somethings I'm used to. Lol

I came from a bmw, it was pretty reliable, I also have a Toyota 4runner. The new stang is my first ford and so far I'm not impressed with build quality. You do get a lot for your money but I'm starting to feel you also get what you pay for. My body panel alignment was OK but I swear it's getting worse by the day, kind of like the car is settling. I have a driveline clank that a lot of others are experiencing and Ford is also aware and replacing drive shafts and other parts to no avail (yet). I'm also starting to hear interior noises that should not be on a car with 1300 miles. Maybe this is how fords are built and I'm just used to higher quality.
Still happy overall but the build quality is subpar. They need to shut down that plant and get their act together in a hurry. Ford should be embarrassed, they should probably do a lot of firing and restructuring at the Flat Rock facility. A coworker has a 16k kia that has much much better panel tolerances than my car.
Sounds like you picked the wrong car. Mine is really great.

How is a M4 $50k more? These over exaggerations are ridiculous. The DCT in the M4 is light years ahead of the auto in the Mustang, to even mention them in the same breath is laughable.

Unfortunately what BMW does is as the car is out there for a greater length of time, they add more options as standard. Keyless entry is not what you think it is. Its Comfort Access, meaning just having the key in your pocket. Not a deal breaker, my 2013 E92 M3 has it standard when it was a stand alone option for $500 the year before.

I fully agree on the way the M4 sounds, its what kept me away from getting one and why I am seriously considering a GT350 for my next ride. My lease is up on my E92 M3, the buyout is $40K, equal to the cost of a new Mustang GT PP with the options I want. Not worth it, I would rather keep my E92 or move on to the GT350, but they better get these QC issues taken care of.

BTW, my 2 E46 M3s as well as my 2 E92 M3s have been flawless in both mechanical reliability as well as panel alignment and all other cosmetic issues. As they should be for the amount of money they charge for these.

Key in pocket is exactly what I meant. My wifes' Durango has it, my BMW has it, My sons' GTI has it, my other sons' Focus has it. 65K and the M4 doesn't have it? That is a joke. You have to add $3750.00 to get it.

Loaded Mustang GT Auto Final price to me $38000.00
2015 M4 Built with similar options Final Price to me $78000.00
so $40K difference. My Bad.

It is not worth IMO. I will not get $40K more joy out of the car. This is my opinion. If it was $60~65 with leather, keyless entry and auto trans I'd have it. Factor in the fart noise and the gouging for things that should be included and I am out. Still think it is an awesome vehicle and still want to have one but they have gone too far out of reality for me to deal with.

I've already seen $20,000 markup on GT350s in the Washington DC area....Crazy.

Just let them sit. The dealers will come around.

I'd throw a blower on my Coyote way before I'd pay that... or buy a 'vette if I decided I absolutely had to have better handling.

And sit they will, on the showroom floor w/ a $10K ADM on the window.

I'd like to see an interior shootage with maybe some german cars. Mustangs are getting hammered on other forums, for interior quality. I'd like to see just how close or how far off they are.

Which dealer? This area is probably one of the worst to be shopping for this car. Plenty of people with cash for toys and they'll pay ADMs too.
