Nothing wrong with that if that's all you need. For me, if the EPA or however is gonna enforce cats, I'm getting the best mofos out there haha.
double it up LOL. put 2 of them in each side, in school they said to double wrap it, and you dont want nothin the EPA has. bwaha

There are some companies in Au that sell 50 cell cats. Reasonable prices too.

Right, trying not to spend $1k LOL

I understand but I personally think that may not be possible. Even aftermarket will cost that much.

LOL, those won't pass and won't allow readiness. I used to run 100 cell cats on a E46 M3, it smelled like there was no cat until it was really warmed up.

What would be the difference between 2015-2017 oem cats and say oem cats from a 2014 GT?

On a 15-17 the left side cat is actually part of the manifold and must be replaced as a whole unit. The right side is a Bolt on unit. But very difficult to remove. When I did my headers I simply left it connected and removed it as one whole unit as well.

I’d almost be better off just getting some catted aftermarket headers since they have to get up in there anyway. I’m just worried about the factory warranty still left on it being voided.

Headers aren't going to void your factory warranty.

Really?? I researched and I hit a bunch of 50/50 results so I figured was safer to assume they did. Hmmm

I have yet to see a failure caused by a header itself unless they were installed poorly. It's a bolt on part. Now if you run headers untuned for a very long time and causes other issues due to it running rich, that's a completely separate issue and means you didn't tune it like you should have.

It won't run rich or lean. The computer has enough range to cover headers.

It will trim to compensate
But if you could find the oem cat/headers cheap. It would make the ecu not have to work as hard and be emission compliant for when epa starts emissions
