So they offered to make it right and you refused, now you want it correct.

I believe in the classifieds there is a set of stock manifolds and cats for sale.
They never offered to put cats back on the car, they claimed it wasn't something they were set up to do, that's why they gave me back part of my down payment to cover the cost for myself to have it taken care of.

Probably cheaper to pay you off, giving some money back to let you deal with it, than them to pay for the parts, and then tech to install. $$$

They didn't want to spend money $$ paying for oem parts, they figure less $ to just give you some money back and let you deal with it, and then the $$ in labor paying tech to do it. thats my thought
Yes this would be the most accurate scenario. Less work and time for them to deal with it by cutting me a check and letting me do it on my own.

It's a 50 thousand dollar fine or more for them to sell it out of compliance.
Now it is on you.

Leave them off (what I'd do) I didn't say that......... or buy the cats that are for sale in the classifieds.

I wouldn't buy any aftermarket header/cats. They simply won't be as good as OEM, and if you have any kind of emission testing, do it once, do it right. buy someones take off, get the best quality. Try to get a like new/low mileage one. prob couple hundred bucks max.

then put whatever catback on after it you want, thats your preference.

but when you are all said and done, you need the proper tune, to compliment the mods.

ie. if you are stock tune now, if you toss stock cats on, should run optimal assuming the intake etc aren't all different. post a pic of engine bay sometime. they can tell you if anything looks not factory. they are pretty good about seeing things that the car didn't come with.

damn..... thats a lot.

id go back honestly if I wanted an exhaust, be like guys, I couldn't find one, fix this shit or you could seek legal counseling about it, "the money you gave me, wouldn't cover the parts I need" so if you want some money back, cool. but it needs fixed right meow.

Even if you miss them, once people start receiving their cars from the factory (currently shut down I guess) they should start seeing more wheel/tire combos and exhaust components coming off the cars.

ATLEAST that was the past. With emission crap coming back, or talk of it. People may not be so quick to strip all the exhaust off the cars anymore, almost all the companies removed downpipes for ecoboost, I am not sure if they stopped selling catless products for theGT's too of fear of EPA. so more people may beekeeping stocking cats in future more so

Not so fast. I'd buy HJS converter. They supply almost every supercar out there. Including the Cosworth 1000 NA hp 11,000 rpm engine in the Valkyrie. Will be emission compliant. Flow like crazy. But you will pay some good coin for them. I'm thinking of going this route with a set of their universals. Good for 1000hp boosted.

If we need to be emissions compliant to play, might as well go balls to the wall. The universals are much cheaper (same quality) you just need to weld in a bung for the factory o2, and the brick needs to be in the same relative starting position as the factory cat.

Nothing wrong with that if that's all you need. For me, if the EPA or however is gonna enforce cats, I'm getting the best mofos out there haha.
