Pump noise on unlock

Hi all,

I've had my Mustang for about 1 month and for the most part it's been great but I'm trying to figure out what the strange noise is when I unlock the car.
This isn't my video, but basically it's a similar sound to this but deeper, not as high pitched:


My car is a 2021 GT.
At first I thought it was a full pump priming, but it also does it randomly when the car is locked and just sitting in the garage.
Anyone able to explain what it is?

Good news. It’s just the fuel pump and electronics kicking on.

As far as the random noise when the car is off, I want to say I’ve noticed that too and it’s like a “sleep mode” for the electronics.

I'm not worried about it, just curious as to what it is. My other cars fuel pumps switch on with the ignition, but this happens as soon as you touch the door handle.
All good, I'll stop thinking about noises my car makes - except for the exhaust noise of course

Lots of things. The front automatic louvers (I never remember what they are called), active exhaust valves, fuel pump, etc., etc.

Very unnerving when you are under the car and it makes noises!

Thanks! I thought that's what it was, glad others have asked the same question.

Strange that it seems to relate to the DI - one of my other cars has DI (Holden/Chev with an LFX V6) and I don't remember hearing the pump prime on that, but I'll take more notice now.

Mine makes all the noises too. No where as loud as the BMW. I think I’m getting in the damn space shuttle.

My 2016 EcoBoost also runs the fuel pump for a second or so when I push on the brake pedal to start the engine............

Probably not the same noise, but I noticed a noise when I got mine and after a day or two saw that it was the window opening slightly on opening the door then shutting slightly to seal the window on shutting the door. Not sure what this is called, but it does it on both sides.
