The door sticker says 32 COLD. Now, please define COLD?

I usually run 3- 5 over sticker. I find it a good compromise between best wear (5 - 8 over) and best comfort (sticker).
Cold = in the morning after the car has sat all night and before the sun has a chance to hit them.

Yes, and that is what I do. But, that morning (here) might be 30 deg. or less, and that morning might be 70 deg. or more. That's likely 3 psi or more difference. Also, I've seen a 60 deg. morning go to a 90 deg. high, and I've seen that 60 deg. morning go to a 60 deg. high.
So, IMO, setting one's tire pressure is not an exact science. I aim for best wear, but if that pressure results in bad handling or a bad ride, I'm not opposed to adjusting.

I’m at 32 psi cold on my summer tires per the door sticker. They warm up to 34-36 psi. Continental Extreme Contact Sport
