I just worry that one of the car wash attendants will lock the door somehow with the key inside and then it'll roll off the conveyor and nobody can get in it and it'll get rear-ended by the car behind it on the conveyer, or roll out into traffic.
I don't think the car will lock with the key inside.

LOL I solve this by never allowing someone else to wash my car.

Why not just leave the fob in the house with your other keys? The car doesn't grab you by the balls and throw you 10 feet in the opposite direction just because you're washing it without the key in your front pocket.

EDIT: Oh you mean in a drive in wash! My bad. Yeah just leave them in the cup holder or something.

So how does the Autolock feature work? I know about walking up to the car, putting your hand on the handle and then it UNLOCKS so you can open the door, but is there a way to make it lock without hitting the lock button on the FOB twice?

Yes. It locks itself... in about 20 seconds. Not sure of the exact amount of time. Or you can touch the little ridges on top of the handle to lock it. This is also one way to set the Enhanced Security if you have it.

Yeah, maybe not, but I don't really like risking it. I'll have to try sometime to lock it with the second key with the first key still inside.

Thinking more about it, the day I drove my car home my dad and I stopped for lunch and the other key was definitely still in the car. And I'm pretty sure the car locked.

I posted about this a while back. Some people suggested leaving the keys in the car, which I tried, and it worked fine but someone else said they tried this and the car actually locked with the keys inside!

Yeah it's a bit annoying but I'm over it. I live in an apartment that doesn't have a wash rack but I go to another apartment I used to live at that does have one. The thing is, there's no place to put my keys that's far enough away when I'm washing so I keep them in my pocked and just let the car do its thing.
