I've never had a car as nice as the 15 Mustang. So safe to say, when I do get one in a few months, keeping it looking new and in excellent shape will be a priority.

In reading through some of the threads I see mention of vandalism (due to jealousy or theft), accidents/crashes, etc. But not a ton on measures to protect the car. A few on dash cams but that's about it.

I'm thinking at least one camera is going to be a given. Feel free to share what specific model you use if it serves you well.

Personally, I've seen some people with more expensive/nicer cars intentionally take 2-10 parking spots to keep others away. I've seen people that park all the way at the rear of a lot so no one else is around them. They won't drive it on rainy days. Wax it every month. No kids/pets/food/drink in the car. Someone stares a little too long at the car and they pop a blood vessel.

My main concerns are vandalism since a dash cam(s) would hopefully take care of other people crashing into me.

Also, I want to clarify this is NOT about protecting you while in the car. That's your choice whether you want to be a victim or not and there's other threads aimed at that issue. This is about protecting the car.

What measures do you take to protect your car?

Thanks

Put the car in garage at night and stop going to shady places.
I've never had people vandalized my cars.

I guess it really depends on the area you live, I live in a relatively safe are and I don't worry about my car being vandalized or stolen.

Having my front and rear dash camera also gives me a piece of mind driving...also records when I'm not!

I do not eat drink or drink in the car, unless it's bottled water. Same rules apply to others. Definitely no smoking either.

I wash my car once a week-myself
I clean the inside every couple weeks or as needed.

I tend to park farther away from others and away from tight spots.

Do those bubbles exist or was it a photoshop type of thing? No, I'm not considering it.

Thanks

Which dash cam(s) do you have? That's nice that they record when not in the vehicle. I thought most shut off when the vehicle did.

So no eating/drinking in the car. Not sure where I'm at with that yet, but no way my kids getting in the back with his sippy cup and crackers!!!

Thanks for sharing.

Of course, I have a 9mm automatic baby yaeeeaaa
Again, not about personal protection. Not that two 5.56's, 10mm, 9mm, .380, and .32 hurt to have on hand. :D

There isn't really much outside of dash cams, locking lugs, etc. you can do. Avoiding bad areas is the best protection. I personally park far away when I go shopping, some people feel that makes them a target.

I also see you live in PA: don't drive in Philly :D

^ This is me. (No dash cam yet, but it's on the list. Front and back.)
I bought a car cover for certain days, winter storage, etc.
I also plan to not let others work on my car. Jacking rails were my first mod.
I try to drive more carefully at slow speed. (Many thread posts about slow speed 'oops' situations.)

Most of all, this forum imparts so much knowledge about all this stuff, almost to a fault. Keep reading.

I only drive to Philly maybe once a year and when I do it's passing through. If I lived there I'd be a wreck worry about my car.

Yeah tell me about it...before reading your post I never heard of "jacking rails". Seems WELL worth the $200 or so (from a quick ebay search).

I have been educating myself on dashcams so I'll definitely go front and back but I'm not sure if I'll go 2 channel or just 2 independent units. Blackvue will probably end up getting my money (DR3500 or DR650GW).

Thanks!
