Is it to early to observe if you feel any difference in the tram-lining with the Conti's you went with? Some roads are nice enough you can hardly tell, but maybe you drive one 'problem' road often, where you can tell if there was any change?

tramlining seems way down. I know continentals can help with that, likely a big part of it, but cutting 50 pounds off the rotating mass in front a part of it too I would guess. To be honest, I associated some of the tramlining with precise steering feel so what do I know? ;)

somewhat related, found this article recently, f really interesting regarding steering weight, electronic assisted steering, GT350. Camissa knows his stuff usually.

Bottom line, hard to know for sure when changing multiple variables at once, but tramlining seems down.

so finally got out for some more spirited driving today. Taking 50+ pounds off the front rotating mass (plus 20 pounds off the rear) has transformed this car.

The biggest negative of the GT350, in my opinion, is the response under 3500 RPM. Once you're moving, this car is gold. But stop/start, stoplight to stoplight it struggles compared to other performance cars. (or something like a GTI or focus ST) If you're not reserving this car for the track, you want more from it on the street.

The R model solves some of this by taking 13 or so pounds off each wheel. Sure, there are some suspension changes (aero changes as well, but they don't matter much on the street) but the wheels are the main difference.

I took 26 pounds off each front wheel, 10 on each of the back.

Highly recommended mods if you can afford. I feel like the car is now what I wanted it to be.

How is initial bite with the Rotors? I have been eyeing the same kit as well as some signature wheels for the same weight savings reasons. I just don't want to lose too much initial brake performance since my car is mostly street driven with occasional track stuff.

A member here (JAJ) has posts about how good the ceramics are with all around performance. I can say initially they had less bite, but once I bedded them, it's great, no loss of anything. I'm really happy so far.

I read that article when it came out and as a fellow automotive journalist I found it blame shifting. He crashed a car, that most journalist and Ford’s test drivers didn’t crash and then he blames the car’s steering feel as being the reason for the crash. Not going too hard, driving above his limit, or driving with some degree of caution to not be “that guy at the press pool who hot dogs and then crashes the car, brining it back to ford on the back of a flatbed”. I remember telling friends about that article—It was weird.

Did you go with Stock GT350 sizing on the wheels?
I don't find the 350 to be a pig light to light if you wind her out. Once you get above 3500 the torque kicks in.
Don't care anyway, the sound of the engine gets me.

Stock sizing.

I agree if you keep revs up all the time you can fly, but it's nice to have more response down low as well.
