We know how popular our system is for the 2011-14 V6 Stangs.
Just seeing what this forums interest level is in a system for the 2015's
ProChargerTECH... don't make me buy a GT. LOL!

Progress!

We missed Spring Break Shootout in Bradenton but we're trying really hard for NMRA in Commerce in a couple weeks. We pretty much have the Procharger install complete except have not fabricated the CAI inlet yet. We've made a big step forward on the tuning issue. We're working with Eric Brooks and HPTuners and we now have a Beta version 2 functioning and once we work out some air inlet temp and MAP transfer function issues with the change to a 2-BAR MAP, we should get started on the actual tuning real soon.
That's great, Tom. Hope to see you with the car at Commerce in May, neighbor. Didn't realize you were close. I'm just due east of Summit Racing from I-75.

That is all...

How reliable is the 3.7 with boost, though? Do any internals need to or should be replaced?

Do you foresee any issues running a supercharger with the auto trans? I'm thinking that it should be able to handle the extra power...

I'm more worried about the engine internals myself.

I think our engine can hold 7 pounds of boost stock maybe with a few parts upgraded not internals though.

Quite stout for a "base" engine. Here's a link to what is in the 2011:

http://v6mustangperformance.com/news/ford-mustang-3-7l-v6-engine-explained/

To my knowledge, the only change for '15 was a lower intake to supposedly clear the hood, and a 5 hp derating to make the EcoBoost look more appealing. In one of Tom Y's previous posts, he's put a 2011-2014 intake on it, and the hood closes.

Forged crank and rods, 6 bolt center mains, and 4 bolt end mains. The intake valves are only .012" smaller diameter than the Coyote; the exhaust valves only .031" smaller. And it'll turn 7200 pretty regular.

That is all...

Interesting. What are the 'forged' internal kits sold for the engine then? Just stronger versions for 500+hp?

Don't have that answer. However, here's a little more to stir the pot:

https://www.facebook.com/fastyellowmustang

About 3/4 of the way down the page to the right:

"We've had many requests for a list of the modifications required to get our Mustang to where it is. Well, here it is:

- Stock motor and transmission..."

That is all...

Awesome! So a supercharged car could technically be a daily driver?! That's a pretty cool thought.

Certainly is. Bad News: With a centrifugal charger, boost doesn't come instantly at low RPM like a screw type. Good News: Keep your foot out of it and still get reasonable gas mileage as a daily driver. My brother's buddy had a screw type on a 4.6 GT daily driver and mileage went way down. Instant boost AND instant gasoline drain. For me, mileage is still a consideration for a daily driver. A centrifugal type is really the only option for the V6... it's a 60 degree "V" block.

If ProCharger gets a kit together, it would be great - as long as the filter would be set up for cold air intake. The lower hood on the 2015 will make it interesting.

A friend has one on a 2012 5.oh, and he installed it himself. No cutting and just a little fussing. One day install in the driveway. Said his biggest headache was getting the front end off (and back on) to install the intercooler.

That is all...
