The only way to get them to stay open is to unplug both solenoids to the IMRC and keep the vent line unplugged from intake.
Sounds like they are obviously being commanded to move then.
(If the move ONLY when the solenoids are plugged in)

Bizarre either way, would have loved to see the issue resolved.
Hopefully it wasn't as simple as a checksum/calibration error issue.

Still odd out of the loads and loads of kits now out there, your car had that issue. Would have been nice to know the root cause.

Thanks though for the kind words! Enjoy whatever path your going down.

You can't supply a canned tune for the Stage 2 when it's upgraded to a D1SC can you?

Nope, nor can we for larger injectors.

Stock cars, with catbacks, and our injectors only at this time. (P-1SC-1)

Lund remote tuning, D1SC Stage 2 kit with ID1000 injectors and JMS FuelMax.

It looks like, if I believe what I read, I could have gone with a Stage 2 kit from ProCharger with a canned tune and made more power and torque, even after multiple revisions. I don't get it. The car makes boost, and runs well. It just seems like something's off here. Lund has been good about emails today though, now that he's back. He even sent me some stuff while I was on the dyno again today without an appointment, which was really cool of him.

I'm just confused by guys putting down so much bigger numbers on similar setups. I've heard running more than 11-12 psi is bad for the stock motor. I'm not running torco or 100 24/7 and don't have access to E85. I'm running my car on a mix of 93 from QT and 100 Octane Mobil 1 gas to see if i can get past some of these power hurdles about a 98 octane unleaded mix.

I'm really curious what everyone else's tunes are like to get them to 650 / 700 range and into the 525-550 torque range, and what octane they're doing to get there.

Apparently a canned stage 2 doors a little better than I am on two dynos with 91 pump gas and near perfect driveability.
Do you have any emamples of cars running much bigger numbers on similar set ups? It seems like you are right where you should be with that pulley. I thought that pulley was suppose to be good for 9lbs of boost.

I think for 5" pulley you are where you should be.

48k speed on D1SC is not pushing it. Weather plus dyno are big factors.

Here's what I think Phil and I both saw when doing our decision making. We both went D1SC, Stage 2 to get the dedicated drive and larger intercooler, and ID1000 with JMS FuelMax. So exact same car except for the larger intercooler and that my car makes about 1.3psi more boost apparently as a result. Same tuner (Lund). Only thing I can think is that this number isn't on 93 pump gas and it might have been run without correction since it was freezing in PA when they did this. Otherwise I can't explain the huge variance between his setup and mine, and I've run mine on Dynojets and Mustang Dynos now. If he's got no knock and running similar timing, it should be putting down about 600 / 480, not 668 / 550. I'm not mad if he's got those legit numbers under his belt, but that's a fat torque curve that I can't seem replicate with the same parts and tuner.

You are correct. I'm spinning my blower about 80% at redline, so it's got plenty of huff left in it. I was thinking about dropping a pulley size to 4.75" just to get the boost on a little earlier in the curve but I don't want to push my luck with too much boost on pump gas. I keep hearing conflicting "best practices" when I read things online so I've just been relying on what Lund tells me since he's well regarded.

I think he'll give me a nice safe tune with decent power. What I'm stumped by is that a stock Stage 2 kit has a smoother fatter power curve and peak numbers and videos like the one from Evolution (D1SC 10.6 psi) and Boostworks (stage 1 at 10.3 psi) where they're putting out 700 rwhp, with less boost.

Yeah I have no idea how those guys are putting down that kind of power at that boost level. I can't make 700rwhp on 13PSI and I've got a full exhaust too.

Both of those are HO kits. One has a d1 the other a p1.

So are you all saying the stage 1 kit is putting up better numbers than the stage 2 kit?

Exactly. They have a smaller intercooler and a shared belt drive. If I was losing cfm or had low boost, i could suspect it would from my larger intercooler and troubleshoot it or my entire setup. But mine makes boost, about 11-12 psi. Somethings just not right.

I plan on running the same pulley the boostworks car has. The only difference is I have o/r headers and that car doesn't. I was suppose to drop the car off 3 weeks ago but I'm still waiting on my mgw shifter.

No I just think they have dropped to smaller pulleys to make the power. I know the boost works car dropped down 5 pulley sizes.

11-12 lbs of boost on the stock pulley seems high. What are they suppose to make?

I say if you are looking to make 600 wheel range, go with prochargers complete kit. Everything ready to go out of the box. If you think/want to make more power than that, go with a tuner kit and get the upgraded parts to support the power.
