I have a stage 2 kit....thinking about getting it tuned for E85......do I need to upgrade the fuel system or will the bap and DW 1000 injectors handle it?? What kind of power gains can I expect over 93

Mak put down 711whp at 10psi with DWs and BAP. He said that's pretty much the most they feel comfortable with. I bought a Sai return setup so I have room for it.

Depends on your Tuner also...Lund will only tune E85 with a return style fuel system.

Good point, I never asked him that but then again, return was always on my plans.

Just make sure your "E85" tune is better than the last one that I saw...

The pump gas tune was decent...
The "E85 Tune" was exactly the same, other then having the knock sensors turned off!!!

E85 + Boost = Wicked. :)

NOTE: Last car I tuned on pump 93, then swapping to E85 (no boost change) gained 101 rwhp between the two fuels. ;)

can it be done safely without a return fuel system?
I have many many times over.
However depends on your power level, and your tuner.

I have a pretty darn good local tuner....I'm looking to hit 700 without a return system if possible...
I am doing that now with stock fuel, BAP, and 92 on Lund.

Do a return fuel system. Its much safer and no worries about the bap possibly failing or making your pump weak by over running it.

Was this a known tuner in the coyote crowd?

Shaun at AED will tune for E85 on just a BAP with big enough injectors. Some cars run out of fuel at the top of the powerband, some don't. Not worth the risk without a return system to me.
