Tons of threads on this... Base procharger system with minimally raised rev limiter, and without constantly taking it to redline stock gears will be just fine.

RPM destroys opg's

HO or Stage 2 ? and what tune are you considering?

I cannot comment on the OPG, but I am a little concerned about this comment that beefcake posted sometime back:

3) Crank stress. The Pax/Vor setup utilizes the factory tensioner setup. It adds 0 more stress to the crank. The Procharger setup adds an extra pulley to the front of the crank, an extra tensioner, which is constantly pulling.

Will the front bearing hold up for 100,000 miles? What happens if it goes bad? I do like the idea of a dedicated belt, and if there is a belt problem, the car can still be driven.

I think Prochargers lower kit uses stock pulley location and their higher kit has a pulley where its in font of factory pulley

This "myth" just will not die.

Honestly, there couldn't be something further from the truth.

My personal daily driven truck as 227k miles on it, with a dedicated drive (using our same tensioner, and 8 rib belt) I have customers with a lot more of that, all without issues.

Stage 2 P1SC Procharger kit here. Not planning on revving higher than 7,500 and daily drive it every day. More worried about the cats and the clutch giving out before the OPGs.

I did the HO kit with the Stage 2 intercooler. Did OPGs and Crank gear just because. It was a fun project :)

Both much less costly and definitely expected on the clutch..

Its nice to have for piece of mind and having them will allow you to safely spin the motor further(make more power), but not required at out of the box levels. Keep the car off the rev limiter and you should be fine. We set our rev limiter at 7300 for the stock opg cars and have never had an issue with one.

Never seen an issue with a Procharger Stage 2 Pulley either if it was properly installed.

Good point, especially with self installs, how many of those "crank failures" were a result of install error?
