So you remove the filter from the bpv? What about the hoses on the intake pipe?

Leave those alone. The filter deadens the noise coming from the BOV. I have a bullet valve which is even louder than the stock butterfly valve.

Nice. Where did you buy the bullet valve?

I think I'm getting belt slip. I punched it and on the oem gauge it showed max 4.0 psi of boost. Also when I punch it, it feels like it's pulling back, kind of like it's running out of fuel.

Mine was fluttering because the vacuumed hose going to it had a cut in it by the nipple on the BOV. Check that vacuumed hose.

PC directly. Thought it was part of the surge problem. It wasn't.
Does surge describe a problem with the blow off valve or a sound it makes? Sorry if naive, had to ask. Thanks

Surging is drivability problem and it ended up being the tune in our case. Not the BOV.

Thanks for the reply. Wondering if that would describe my problem. Sometimes the rpms climb and kind of want to push the car. Also when pushing in the clutch driving through the neighborhood the rpms go up and hang before the next shift pulls them down. Does that sound like a "surge"? Did yours do that.

Rev hang is in the tune typically, though it seems to be pretty common.
