I have been reading a thread about how bad E85 can be for your motor and I wanted to switch to 93 octane for at least a couple tanks to clean everything out. I have a p1X and an l2 fore fuel system. I’m running about 22psi of boost.
How do I swap out the fuel? Do I have to drain the tank or keep the car running till it turns off?
I also would have to swap out the pulley and belt and not really sure how to do that either.
I wish I can just leave it as is but now I think that I’m hurting my car by running just E85 in it.
Thank you !

Maybe @ProChargerTECH can give you some tips on how to change the belt.

Where are you seeing that E85 is bad for your motor? Plenty of people have been strictly on E85 for years without issue.

If your E85 is good quality I wouldn’t be too concerned.

You are not running 22psi with a P1X, unless you have a 2.5 liter engine in your car.

I was thinking he meant 12....

I run a 3.70" pulley on a P1X and at MAX rated impeller RPM it makes right at 15psi (954whp). Now that being said, you could do a 3.40" which would over spin the blower but it would make more. And I know folks run MASSIVE custom crank pulleys to push them even further when racing. However they know that the gearbox isn't designed to support that long term.

But yes, no "normal" kit with normal pulleys is making anywhere close to 22.

Op is in Detroit and might be a tad too cold for easy startup. Op, test your so called e. It's probably more like e50 since November.

Who is your tuner?

The easiest way to empty the tank, is to drive it around until you have about 15-20 miles of range left on the range estimator. The second easiest way is to have your tuner provide a fuel pump/tank empty calibration that will simply keep the pump running, but you need to disconnect the fuel line at the rail and run a hose to a fuel jug.

Also, not only do you need a longer belt to go with your larger pulley, you need pump gas tune.

What is the question here? Are you just wanting to put 93 in it for storage? or looking to run it full time?
I want to swap to 93 to clean out the system for a couple tanks so I’ll run it full time for now.

Yes I am running 21.5 PSI on an e85 tune I have a lower compression motor.

I test my E85 per fill up and it’s always above 70 or I won’t put it in my car

The numbers don't add up man. Your signature says 852 WHP, so on a 9.5/1 motor you'd only need around 15PSI at sea level to achieve that. Also, the P1X can't produce 22 PSI on this engine unless you over-spin it considerably. What harmonic balancer do you have? What is the diameter of your supercharger pulley?

Anywho, reach out to your tuner to get you set up on pump gas

I have my dyno sheet I’ll post it in a sec. And I do have a 93 tune.
