Can you imagine if Ford had let us produce the Mustang here.... no quality issues but it would have $80k

I drove past a G6E the other day, it had the exact same alignment issue on the rear quater panel meeting the bumper, it was popped out in the centre. Build quality was never perfect coming out of aussie assemblies either.

When we ordered ours, the prices hadn't been released....popular opinion at that time was that 70 to 80k would be the price and that was what I was expecting.
I would happily have paid a few more thou for the premium trim with soft touch door trims and better leather and more r@d spent to allow red tail lights etc...
Yes, I'd say most of us on this forum would have happily paid a few thou more for some of the omitted stuff, like the helical diff, soft touch stuff, real stitching (I heard we only get fake), tower brace, etc. (even if I understand that we'd not be getting some of the banned cosmetic stuff). I don't care about the Sync 3 but I guess others might care. Oh, and proper GT badge :tsk:. And definitely full leather seat trim. I'm expecting to have to get the front at least recovered some time in the future as I've heard it's pretty thin.

What's the total time frame from docking to delivery for yours?
Docked 18th Jan (off the top of my head) and has been with Ford from a couple of days later and is yet to be delivered to the dealer but is expected later this week, then a week or so before I can get it (post tint, paint protection, interior and exhaust upgrade). So a month and a bit should do it.

WILDB, did you get your tail lights tinted red as you had planned on doing earlier....I am hoping to see some Aussie tinted ones before I consider getting mine done.
I didn't get them tinted, no. We made up a template to cover the side of the bars, but not the whole thing - my lights are still clear though. Truth be told I actually grew to not mind the clear lights.

If I'm interpreting this correctly, you're getting tint, paint protection and and exhaust upgrade from the dealer?

Tint and paint protection yes, but at cost price and after thoroughly going over what's being offered exactly and who's doing the work. The car's being trucked to Mustang Motorsport for a Roush Quad Pipe exhaust, with the resonator removed, and valance, and I'm also getting the Roush hood scoop and side vents plus possibly upping my wheels from the standard 19" black GT rims to 20" Roush or TSW rims powder coated black, with tyres to match. I have to make these decisions in the next day or so. Considering new cold air intake and oil catch can as well but we'll see how it all pans out financially first. I can always add stuff later.

Cool, sounds good.

Was just working out your delivery time frame from docking. So basically it's 3 weeks, if you didn't do all the extra stuff through the dealer. That's not too bad.

Yeah, that'd be about right.

By the way, the dealers are definitely kept in the dark as much as us punters while the cars are held at quality control upon arrival to our shores. As has been reported here, they are informed of general trends with regards to issues being discovered and repaired but not kept informed on individual cars they're waiting for. Those trends have been mentioned here and they in lude everything from the panels being poorly aligned, paint issues, stripes missing on cars they've been ordered for, Nickel Lustre wheels missing from cars they were ordered for etc.

Will be interesting to see how long Endurance cars take to be released to the dealer. Cars currently on Endurance will be the first to arrive on our shores which were exposed to the Baltimore storm.

Like this? thats how mine turned up, took 3 bumper resprays to get it right.

Woa and those swirls and scratches!!

3 resprays? Not very good is it haha.. At least they got it right for you in the end though.
Biggest worry for me so far is having to 'fight' to get a respray done if its required. Were they happy to fix it up or did they make an issue of it?

Did you ask your dealer to not clean the car? Looks pretty dirty, I know some people tell their dealer not to clean it.

It was in an appalling state when it was delivered, looked like it had been sandblasted. 1st fix on the bumper was a blended repair even though they were told to drop and re spray , that bubbled up after 3 weeks.
It went back in again, came back with fish eye & paint runs on one side.
3rd attempt went to bodyshop of my choosing and it came back perfect.
Dealer was embarrassed at the whole situation, I've had a fair bit of compo from them. They got me the mustang trunk liner FOC (£85 normally), they fixed a chip in my alloy FOC, whenever it's been in the bodyshop I've had either their GT or a Vignale as a courtesy car. Then I had the car detailed & Gtechniq black exo treated yesterday which the dealer paid £200 towards

This is what she looks like now (post 169)

Just dropped my car off for a minor issue, some sort of matting had come loose and was blocking my intercooler.

I had a test drive of an auto GT the other day, and must admit it didn't inspire me. There were a few minor issues, but the power vs speed was not what I was expecting. Yes it did sound good on full throttle, but as a commuter felt pretty sedate. Had a chance to drive an ecoboost convertible for a week, and was more impressed than the drive in the GT.
One annoyance I have, is the passenger mirror is about 50mm further back than the drivers mirror. It's mounting bracket is angled at approximately 45 deg, and the drivers is almost 90 deg. This means that to look at the left rear view mirror, what you mostly see is the side of the mirror, with just a sliver of mirror to be seen. Not only is this dangerous, but is just poor design. No modification for RHD, even though they are designed for european spec.
I am about to bail on Ford for good. C#$p service from Ford, and no communication other than me chasing the dealer for the last 10.5 months.

The first photo is of the drivers side looking down on the mirror. Note where the front of the mirror starts in relation to the window.

The second is the passenger side, showing the angle of the bracket.
