I guess I'm going to have to investigate how to get street fighters to the uk.
Ring them and ask them to post a set over.....:D..

Mine took a week to arrive, ceramic coated and about ÂŁ1k cheaper than Kooks:thumbsup:

Hi Graham,

I'm sorry to hear and read of the troubles you have been having. The simplest solution was to wait on the starter motor and had hoped this wouldn't have fixed the situation. The starter motor may look the same but Kooks were telling me that it was clocked? So the starter motor body and solenoid would be in a different position to the original enabling clearance to fit up the starter into position. Unless we also have the clocked starter motor?

Graham was one of the first customers to have been supplied a set from ourselves.

From my understanding Kooks have only produced one batch of headers with a quantity of these that have been supplied to us over two separate shipments.

Of the ones we have been supplied this is the only serious issue we have come across where the starter motor has been unable to be fitted with the headers.

Hopefully your garage will be able to make them fit and don't cause too much damage to the ceramic coat. Should there be anything else you require that we can help with we will look after you the best we can for your troubles.

I would just like to add a few points the conversations that have been raised in the thread.

Quite a few of these headers have now been sold UK. It is understood that they are tight but they are going to be with much larger diameter primary tubes working their way down the motor to a large 3" collector over the stock headers.

The Headers developed by Kooks were on the only RHD Mustang in the USA at the time that was stationed at Roush / Ford Performance where they were also developing the RHD Roush FP Supercharger components at the same time. While it was there whole of the car was also 3D scanned with the aim to develop further parts to check they are compatible with the RHD models.

It is only now that the RHD Mustang is no longer there so makes revisions more difficult to produce and send them for trial fitment. Having to be sent over seas to the UK. We have been working closely with Mike to develop parts for the UK market that we don't currently have to that in the US so we are not being left out. However, as it has been mentioned Mike has a lot of weight on his shoulders being staff short, running the garage with a constant back log of customers wanting parts fitted and helping developing parts for our Mustangs at the same time having to still cover the wages for his mechanics on unpaid development work as changing a set of headers is not a 5 minute job. We are all working hard to offer a great market and support of parts for Mustangs owners from Manufacture through Supplier through to all the Mustang Specialist Garages.

Mike has managed to fit them by flattening a tiny part of the header where it made contact with the starter motor or the steering, although I'd wished he'd told me that when I spoke to him 3 weeks ago. He also has a pile of headers that Kooks have sent him that don't fit. My ceramic coating also didn't help the situation.

Seconded lol. Not LT headers like KOOKs and just the right hand manifold, but does wonders for the engine what i've seen.

From seeing the datalogs, the Wortec RHD headers improve maf flow rate by around 2lb/s over the maf sensor, so it works for sure but I'd say its worth 15HP tops so its still a lot of money for 10-15HP.

I am awaiting to see what ARH options are, as a full LT system is worth 20-30HP, but at the ÂŁ2500 Kooks charge for a system which may or may not fit, they can go and do one. :D

Ideally ARH will make a true 3" system.

True that. If Wortec made a LH header, or just turned them all LT with decat/high flow cats not the American junk, be interested to see what they can do with it all. ARH will probably make one that fits the RHD far superior to that of the kooks ones... Which is unfortante for kooks as they've evidently spent a lot fking around with this (Probably have been cheaper to rent a place in UK with a RHD mustang and trial run for a week lol)

I can definitely recommend them:).... yes they were a bit of a pain to fit, but some of that was my fault for being a bit of a crip and attempting it on axle stands::lol:

But 2000 miles later, there's no funny knocks or rattles, no emission lights, just a nice bark and of course the extra umph....

At the moment am only doing mods which are easily reversed and can be transferred to the next one.

Full headers is a big install job, so not really planned for this car.

But yes SF are a great option and one I looked into months ago as the price is good and they fit much better than Kooks as they were properly developed for RHD cars.

LT headers give gains for sure, even over correct shorty headers the LT's still have decent gains in both torque and power.

Not sure if this might help any of you guys in the U.K. but the SF headers are actually manufactured by Pacemaker and can be purchased a fair bit cheaper if you go that way.
Not relevant to this thread of course but may help some of you.
