But what makes different intakes sound differently? Is it the air filter, Closed vs open box, Rubber vs aluminum tube, Or a combination of the 3? What makes the most difference in terms of sound (and performance while we're at it)?

The inlet hose is smoothed out. Stock inlet have baffles that directs the air flow that makes it less turbulent before it reaches the throttle body.

Dont point me to that thread, im not asking about how they sound. I am asking rather what parts make them sound the way they do vs stock. :paddle:

11 sec bolt on ecoboost // 9.2 @ 151 2019 blower GTCS
The open fitler.... throw an open filter on a stock intake instead of the box and you'll have the same sound.
