I'm ordering a set of wheels with bead knurling. I understand there can be issues with slow air leaks. Not common but it happens. PS4s tires seem to be among the ones that might happen with. I'm going with PS4s from local place.

Is there anything that can be done to the wheels or tires to reduce the odds. No matter how rare, not fun to be in the middle of finger pointing between tire and wheel sellers/makers.

If there is anything, hope its with the wheels since I will have some private time with them before the consummation.

I had new PS4S summer tires mounted on new Apex wheels with knurled beads on Black Friday and let the tires and wheels sit through the winter before installing them on the car. (Michigan winters are too cold for summer tires.) Three of the four tires lost almost all their air over the winter and it took a while to realize that air was seeping through the bead. A simple solution resolved the issue: Once spring arrived, I installed the tires on the car and drove it, heating and setting the tires into the bead. I haven't had any leak concerns since that first drive.

Thanks.

But still looking for other solutions. I previously bought a set of Apex wheels and put PS4s on them. one out of 4 loses about 1 PSI every 7-10 days even 2 years later.

Oh man, I had this problem for months, couple of years ago..
Okay the cure, dismount and remount with some sort of rubber goop, on the tire bead, that most all tire shops have, total cure
However, had to deal with months of 1-2 psi per week leaks, hugely annoying. Simple mount and re-mount is NOT the fix.

Can't say I ever knew about this. I have Apex VS5's with PS4S tires and my tires didn't lose anything even sitting all winter.

I would just go with a bead sealant, that is usually what shops use for old wheels with corroded beads that don't seal so well.
