The car had quite a few rock chips, scratches, and that large dent above the exhaust.
Yeah, that's a death sentence on BaT.

2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R for sale on BaT Auctions - ending August 4 (Lot #80,590) | Bring a Trailer

This one...ehh. It's the right year and the right color but has some things that jump out at me. Lug nuts seem undersized - why would anyone put nuts with a smaller diameter seat than than the wheels provide? Wheels themselves look like they might have had some paint or have some small damage (I didn't read the whole listing to know if they disclosed this)..some non OE stripes (like them or not, this has been proven to be a price detractor) Seats...had the red removed which..I actually like - I didn't really care for the red but I also wouldn't actually change this on a 350R.

All these things add up - and usally collectors will wait for the next one, so curious on the end result. I say $85k - any takers?

Yeah. I don't know. These are my opinions, and only matter to me, so take them for what they are worth.

1. I love the color Combo.
2. I love the side stripes.
3. I guess this person felt the need to change out the seats. The non-Red seats look good, but I hope they include the originals.
4. The Blue Color on the Shelby letters do not make sense to me. Blue doesn't go with any of the colors on this car...
5. Aside from the seats, the mods are all reversible if someone wants to get something unique and the 2020 drives amazing!
6. I feel like 15K miles is a lot for a 2020. We will see what it sells for. If one person wants it for 85, then that's all that matters.

You bunch of numb nuts! That's a TT car. One of 2 that got out and didn't get destroyed.

That is a very rare car.

Tool Trial for those that don't know.

I saw that car sell a while back when it was for sale on a dealers lot in ohio. I couldn't believe it didn't draw the much attention, but Rs were in a slump at the time. I wanted to buy it, but didn't have the room for it.

That car is a very, very, rare car.

I’m stupid. What is a Tool Trial car?
I did the Google and Butkus.

Before general production of a vehicle, they have a smaller scale production run to test parts, assembly techniques, and machines for proper calibration and function. These limited runs are often used to produce engineering examples for analysis and evaluation. For example, the GT500 TT run not only tested the assembly and production of the vehicle, but when they were completed, they were put in the hands of various engineers to evaluate and test out in the wild. Before the general manufacturing run, all kinds of various types of GT500s were seen all around the Detroit area.

Usually, these cars are destroyed. They were not part of the finalized production and did not go down the normal assembly line. These 2 TT Rs that got out were used as a press car by FP and somehow they were put on the auction block in Detroit (I believe it was Manheim). Sometimes these mistakes happen.

I wrote to Ford Performance about this and the other TT R that was available. Their response was that they were believed to be used as press cars for the '20 MY. That explains why this car had so many miles on it. It was driven. The car had similar miles on it when it was for sale a long time ago on the dealers lot. I could try to dig it all up again. I took lots of screenshots for the dealers online ad. I even brought this car to the attention of Harry, and asked that he reach out to try to find this car a good home. I knew what it was, and so did he. Unfortunately, the R models then were not as sought out as they are now.

So, everyone knows how rare PP cars are..... Here you have a TT car that is probably a 1 of 2 R model.

Unfortunately I think the TT rarity will get lost on BAT. Or whoever would want the TT rarity will get discouraged by the miles.

It has the HEP-like side stripes though. That's gotta be worth at least 15k on top of the asking price.

No Matt, the HEP Seats make it worth the extra 15K! That and the Guardsman Blue Stickers in the Shelby Chin Spoiler.

You know what would be more crazy would be if this car was originally a HEP, and the only TT HEP at that, and someone that hates them as much as Tomster decided to strip it completely down and repaint it...

I don't hate it, just calling it what it is.... Paint and badges. On the other hand, here we have a very rare car that should not exist, but here it is available to be owned.

Its ok to disagree, and I certainly understand why your viewpoint is biased.

Oh, and it's a splitter, lol

Hmmm.....you are right! Maybe someone needs to message the seller and tell them what they have. A 1 of 1 HEP TT

If there ever was one, which I doubt, it most certainly was destroyed with the rest of the TTs
