Based on your recent incredible accuracy for predicting the selling prices for some R models where do you peg this car to hammer at including the buyers premium?
$82,500 final

Pretty funny stuff as I had written down a hammer price prior to your response and it was $75,000 therefore we are both on exactly the same page.

Based on my experience of attending many Mecum auctions over the years I suggest that the Tulsa venue would not have been my first choice to consign this rare car as it is no secret that Kissimmee and Indy are their best Mecum auction venues when it comes to bringing the best money throughout the year.

Having said that I suggest that if this car sells (assuming that it meets the consignors reserve price) this R may not sell to anyone in the auction house but would probably go to either a telephone bidder or an internet bidder.

Haha that's awesome that we both have the same number.

I feel like in the future these base cars will tack on at least a 10-15 percent premium. Just not there yet. I agree that it will be a phone or internet bidder and most likely someone who actually knows the significance of a base model.

Harry I did not come across the shot of the trunk tray as you mention on their website. Looks like the same line-up of pics to me. This car is # 364 & ours #245 Base R 16' model & the same color / stripes combo as #364. You may recall that our #245 had the trunk deck lid with installed insulation board that should not have been there.

The assy line was having so much fun building these 350's that they just got carried away when a Base model came down the line!

Hey Rex!

Thanks for much for reminding me about your cool Base R which as you say is a mate to the one going up for auction.

If you go on the consignors website you will see a picture of his trunk tray whereby he took a picture of the Shelby Owners Kit, WS, etc all sitting on top of it.

I assume that your car does not have a tire inflator kit or trunk liner underneath the trunk tray?

Iā€™m doing research for a tv show that Iā€™m technical advisor on and I stumbled across this video. This pretty much encapsulates how the automotive world at large views the GT350/GT350R; they mention the values holding or accruing and shear majesty of the car. Itā€™s a great watch and shows why ā€œprices are on the riseā€

I know the Race Red car first hand in 2017 , as I almost bought it last year. Was local to me. Paint was perfect. also the matte was just xpel stealth i believe, but I saw it before the seller moved from MI to NC without the Xpel on it. However, to your point, stealth will hide more, but the new seller only had it 400 miles. It was a very clean car, again only knowing it prior to the sale to the owner that put it on BaT.

Recap of GT350R auctions so far from 2021

2017 Shadow Black - 46 miles - $74,200 (Mecum)
2017 Shadow black w/black stripes - 21 miles - $77,000 (Mecum)
2017 Lightning Blue w/white stripes - 21 miles - $74,250 (Mecum)
2018 Shadow black w/black stripes - 18 miles - $80,300 (Mecum)
2018 White w/blue stripes - 20 miles - $77,000 (Mecum)

2017 Race Red - 3,000 miles - $61,950 (BaT - Was wrapped in matte red which could have scared off a lot of people by not knowing what the original paint looks like)

2019 White w/black stripes - 380 miles - $76,000 (BaT)

April

2019 White w/black stripes - 2,000 miles - $75,600 (BaT)

May
2017 White w/blue stripes - 2,000 miles - $79,000 (BaT)
2018 Lead Foot Gray w/black stripes - Unknown miles - $82,500 (Mecum)

Thanks Harry! Just the deck lid liner was the "extra" from Ford!

WCF thanks for the video! those two mates would have been great ambassadors for Ford. Probably doubled the R sales let alone settle some debates on this site!!!

I loved how they used a 2017 R and how they pointed how well it has held its value. Thought that was very unique in any video that weā€™ve seen so far.

People that get it know it's not how much a car costs, it's how much you lose.

Funny you should say that. Weā€™re going through this right now with travel trailers for retirement traveling. Iā€™m looking at Airstream as they hold their value and the Mrs thinks they are butt ugly.
First world problems for sure.....carry on ;-)

2017 GT350 now gone to a great home.
Hey, at least your wife is open to RVing. My wife wouldnā€™t even get in one no matter if it cost a million bucks.

Ha ha. We have a 2008 5th wheel and I want to upgrade because the tech and amenities have gotten so much better but she will have none of it. She is too attached to the floor plan.

To throw a little fuel on the fire... Was in getting my 2019 serviced today (passenger A pillar plastic was coming lose). They had a 2021 Mach1 in Fighter Jet Grey, all the options ($64K). The GM knows me and offered me 58k for my GT350 on the Mach1.

I think id be tempted, I love the gt350, but im really digging the mach 1's in manual variant. I really like how another member removed the stripes, and it looks sexy naked, seriously a show stopper imo. clean diff body
